Bishkek-Karakol

Not much to say here, other than that Issyk-kul is a nice lake, especially once you get beyond the dense and decrepit looking resorts. Another Russki-pop blaring 7 hour marshrutka ride later, I found myself at the Nice Hostel in Karakol, which lives up to its name and is for certain the nicest hostel I have been in in Kyrgyzstan. Apple hostel in Bishkek is also good, but it is a bit far from the center and is currently undergoing renovation. I wasn’t at the hostel in Osh long enough to form an opinion. In any case, towards the end of the drive to Karakol the scenery trends rural and idyllic, and is especially pleasant to pass through in the late evening.
